I want to first share with you my experience of the movie as an artist. It is brilliant in how neat and non-sensational way they were able to tell this heroic story of two children. The composition of the movie is mature and balanced, and it is important because truth is told best without unnecessary noise but also without holes in the story. Even if you are an overly sensitive person, you will be able to watch the movie without closing your eyes in fear or horrific disgust because they wanted to show you the truth but also honor our human dignity!
This is a beautiful movie that captures your heart and mind towards good. The story... if you are committed to showing the truth and not turning anyone into a fake hero - you will be able to show the heroism of those who deserve it. They did that.
This is the second movie we watched in the last 6 months that was able to use TRUTH and draw a realistic picture that didn't exaggerate or cheapen the story or the people in it. The other movie is "Nefarious" by Steve Deace, and I want to re-watch it to write a fresh review.
If you know and understand the truth, you can share it with the word without the need of making it look better or worse, and it impacts the viewers.
We felt and saw a huge impact on everyone in the theater on the day we watched it. I can only imagine how many people are right now awakened by the reality of child sex trafficking, inspired and ready to act against it.
And again, I must say that - not often do we see movies that, instead of manipulating our emotions and artificially evoking our response, simply tell us a story, honor who we are, and trust that we will respond to the truth.
We pray this movie will bring forth the intended fruit!
I hope you watch it!
