Machines don't have a heart. They can fool you with the sound of the human voice and have a logical and even emotional conversation, but they aren't you. And since we are about WholeheartedArt, we will be 100% human. What is the big deal or difference? It is something that many people don't appreciate anymore. We, humans, were created in the image of God. Machines can't get that. They are a product of this world while we are a completely different story. I don't know how best to explain this to you. This story starts in Genesis and continues through the whole Bible. I would read that over and over again. You are not the main character of this story, Jesus is, yet you are important. At some point, you will get that although you live in this world now, you belong somewhere else - with God in Heaven. There is more about how we were created that is quite amazing!
It is quite simple to me. Only God was able to create from nothing and create us in this wonderful way to be like him but not to be equal with God. Only God could give us the freedom to follow him or reject him and to change our minds about it - repent and come back into his grace. Only God could have hidden his law in our hearts. Only God put a piece of eternity in our hearts and filled us with the Holy Spirit. Only God calls us his children and provided for us the one perfect way in Christ to save us from sin and death and bring us into eternal life with Him. And because of all that, we don't only have a mind. We have a heart and soul. That can be explained in many ways. Many smarter than me have done this job properly... I will just end with this.
I was created by God, and I will use and develop the gifts He gave me to glorify Him. My art will be made by me, and my hands will work diligently whether we are relevant or replaced by AI. I will use the eyes God gave me to see the way paint and fabric come together on canvas. My brain will strategize and figure things out, while my heart rejoices in this process. I will pray and praise God because He is the only one who deserves praise. So what will be the difference between art created by me and AI? Honestly, mine will be imperfect and wholehearted. It will be more expensive than art on demand, and it may not be exactly what you wanted. It might be a joyous surprise or a bizarre makeover of disappointment. In many ways, it will be worse. But it will be created by someone who bears the image of God, for you who also is created in the image of God. From one child of God to the other - with love, with sweat, with errors, and lots of prayer.
